The service

RuleCost provides free, browser-based calculators and related written content. The site is provided “as is,” without any warranty that results are accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose — see the disclaimer and methodology for what a calculator’s output does and doesn’t represent.

Acceptable use

You may use RuleCost for its intended purpose — getting an estimate for your own situation, or reading its guides and reference pages. You agree not to:

  • attempt to disrupt the site (excessive automated requests, attacks on its infrastructure, and similar);
  • scrape or republish RuleCost’s own written content (guides, explanations, tool copy) at scale without permission — you’re welcome to link to us, quote a short excerpt with attribution, or reference the same public government sources we cite;
  • misrepresent a RuleCost calculator’s output as official guidance from a government agency.

Content and ownership

RuleCost’s own text, design and calculator logic are the property of RuleCost’s operators. Figures and legal text drawn from government and regulatory sources remain in the public domain or belong to their respective publishers, as applicable; we cite them rather than claim them.

Calculator pages link to official government and regulatory sources (for example, IRS, CMS, or a national aviation authority) so you can verify a figure yourself. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or availability.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RuleCost and its operators are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or its calculators.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time; the date above reflects the last change. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the current version.
